Understand this at a meta level but I guess what people struggle with is a) Having that clear internal voice that tells you that this is the thing you should be doing (its not as common and easy as it sounds) and b) Having some kind of confidence in yourself that you can do and create things of value. The second usually comes from having some 'wins'. It needn't even be in the same sphere as what you want to work on but wins in general, things that gave you positive feedback that you can focus on a thing, do it and achieve it maybe. Even if you fail, it's just part of the process. Without those wins its very difficult to be in this state.

Pasting my response to the share:

It is a process of discovery. It is also, if I imagine the Ikigai circles and trace the path to the center of it, a kind of spiral path. You may start anywhere and work your way to the center through iteration. Getting better at something you aren't passionate about from the get go can open up possibilities and some of this new expanse you may be driven to explore. Not always but sometimes.

I also ask myself where I am most receptive to failure. The answer tells me what I love doing for the sake of it. I still may not end up doing it--that’s another matter but the voice, the signs are there. Sometimes, the voice is clear but it’s almost if we need permission from others to listen to our own inner voice. That’s been my experience.
